Top award for St Tudy Community Shop

St Tudy Community Shop has been honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK. It aims to recognise outstanding work by volunteer groups to benefit their local communities. The award was created in 2002 to celebrate The Queen’s Golden Jubilee and is equivalent to an MBE.

Recipients are announced each year on 2nd June, the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation. It is a tremendous accolade for this already award-winning community shop, particularly as it is the only shop in the whole of the UK group of 230 charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups which are receiving the prestigious award this year.
